After a mentee completes their connection onboarding (meeting their partner, confirming focus areas, and scheduling a first meeting), AI-recommended goals appear in the connection's Plan tab. The AI generates 3–5 suggestions based on the mentee's confirmed focus areas and any additional context they provided.

Participants can select, edit, regenerate, or dismiss any suggestion — nothing is saved without their input. They can also generate fresh recommendations at any time, add context to refine them, or write goals from scratch. AI-recommended goals are also available inside the Chronus meeting experience, so participants can set or revisit goals without leaving a meeting.

Note: The connection onboarding experience (meeting your partner, confirming focus areas, scheduling a first meeting) is available to all customers regardless of whether AI is enabled. The AI toggle controls the goal recommendations that appear afterward.

Near the end of a connection, mentees are prompted with a progress and closure flow — including an activity overview and a focus area status update. This is part of Game Plan (not the AI toggle) and is available to all customers with Game Plan enabled.

Once enabled, AI-recommended goals will be generated for new connections after participants complete onboarding.

This feature requires Chronus AI to be enabled at the global level by your Global Admin. For full setup details, see Getting Started with Chronus AI Settings.

Available for 1:1 and Group Mentoring programs (new and existing connections). Not currently supported for Peer, Circles, Connection Communities, or 3rd-role programs.

Do I need Game Plan configured?
Recommended but not required. With Game Plan, participants get pre-populated focus areas and richer recommendations. Without it, they see a simpler open-text field and the AI has less context. Talk to your CSM if you'd like to set it up.

Will existing connections be affected?
No. Existing goals are not changed. AI-recommended goals only appear for connections that haven't completed the process yet.

Can mentors set their own goals?
Not currently. Mentors can view and edit mentee goals but cannot set personal goals within the connection.

Can admins see individual participant goals?
Admins see aggregate program-level data (focus area completion, engagement trends). Individual goal content stays between the mentor and mentee.

Is this automated decision-making?
No. Every suggestion can be regenerated, edited, or dismissed — nothing is saved without the participant actively choosing to do so.
