We have public BRG/ERG events — can suspended users or non- SFTP feed users still attend them?

Suspended users cannot access anything on the platform — including public BRG/ERG events. Suspension is an org-wide block; it overrides SSO authentication and event visibility entirely. A suspended user who tries to log in will see a "Contact Global Administrator" error and cannot proceed further.

This means if your SFTP feed suspends users who are not in the file, any employee who self-registers for a public ERG event but is not in the feed will also get auto-suspended on the next feed run — locking them out of the very event they signed up for.

The recommended fix for orgs running public BRG/ERG events alongside an SFTP feed is to enable the "Suspend only SFTP-created users" setting. With this on, only users who were originally provisioned via the SFTP feed are subject to suspension logic — users who self-joined via a public event are excluded and remain active. Genuine leavers (employees who were in the feed and later dropped out) are still suspended as expected
