How can I modify recurring meeting settings in Chronus?
Managing recurring meetings effectively is a common need for Chronus users. Below, we provide detailed guidance on how to adjust meeting series settings, such as changing recurrence frequency or day of the week, and explain relevant limitations and workarounds.
Adjusting the Recurrence Frequency of a Meeting Series
To change the recurrence frequency of an existing meeting series in Chronus without creating a new meeting series, follow these steps:
Open the connection in Chronus.
Navigate to the Meetings tab.
Select the upcoming meeting from the series you want to modify.
Click the three dots (more options) next to the meeting and select Edit.
If this is the first edit for the recurring series, choose “Update all meetings” when prompted to apply changes to the entire series. At this point, you can adjust the recurrence frequency.
Save your changes to finalize them.
However, if the series has already been edited before, note that further changes to the recurrence must be done for each upcoming occurrence individually, as bulk changes are no longer applicable.
Changing the Day of the Week for a Meeting Series
Chronus has a limitation when it comes to changing the day of the week for an existing recurring meeting series. The system does not currently support direct updates to the day of the week. Instead, you will need to delete the existing meeting series and create a new one with the desired day. Here’s how:
Delete the current meeting series.
Set up a new recurring meeting on the desired day of the week.
When making edits, be aware that the "apply to single event or entire series" option only appears for time changes and not for changing the day.
Troubleshooting and Tips
Editing limitations: Be cautious when editing recurring series as Chronus may impose restrictions on further bulk edits if changes have already been made.
Planned updates: Periodically check for Chronus updates, as limitations like the inability to adjust the day of the week might be addressed in future releases.
Avoid manual repetition: Use the "update all meetings" option whenever possible to save time and ensure consistency across the series.
